이 포스터는 영화 〈비포 선라이즈〉(1995)와 〈비포 선셋〉(2004)이 품고 있는 '시간의 간격'에서 출발한 작업이다. 영화가 같은 인물과 같은 감정을 서로 다른 시간 위에서 다시 바라보듯, 저 또한 하나의 풍경을 '아침'과 '저녁'이라는 두 개의 시간으로 나누어 한 쌍의 포스터로 엮었다.
이 작업은 실제 그 시간 안에서 디자인했다. 〈SUNrise〉는 해가 떠오르는 새벽에, 〈SUNset〉은 해가 지는 저녁에 작업되었으며 직접 빛과 공기의 변화를 바라보며 화면을 다듬어 나갔다. 일출과 일몰을 단지 묘사하기보다, 그 시간 안에 머물며 변해가는 빛의 온도와 색의 흐름을 기록하는 일에 더 가까웠다.
작업은 2004년, 영화 〈비포 선셋〉이 개봉하던 해에 처음 시작되었지만, 완성되지 못한 채 오래 머물러 있다가 20년이 지난 2024년에 다시 이어졌고, 같은 새벽과 같은 저녁의 시간 안에서 색과 비례, 글자의 위치를 다시 조정하며 비로소 완성되었다. 


These two posters began from the "interval of time" held within the films 〈Before Sunrise〉 (1995) and 〈Before Sunset〉 (2004). Just as the films revisit the same characters and the same emotions across different hours of time, I, too, divided a single landscape into "morning" and "evening" — two moments woven together as a single pair.
This work was designed within the very hours it depicts. 〈SUNrise〉 was made at the break of dawn, and 〈SUNset〉 at the close of day — both shaped while directly observing the changing light and the shifting air. Rather than merely depicting sunrise and sunset, the work moved closer to the act of inhabiting that time, and recording the temperature of light and the flow of color as they transformed.
The project first began in 2004, the year of Before Sunset's release. Left unfinished and lingering for many years, it was resumed in 2024 — two decades later — and was completed only by returning to the same dawn and the same dusk, recalibrating the colors, the proportions, and the position of every letter.
